Psychological hungers

The Timetable

Your loudest appetite is structure: the need to know what the hours are for. Open time makes a specific noise in you: the loose Sunday, the cancelled plan, the unplanned week all trigger the same quiet alarm, and the same reflex answers it: fence the field, fill the diary, convert the win to a line item and the dinner to a job. It works, which is exactly the trap: the anxiety never surfaces because the emptiness never survives long enough to cause it. The cost is everything that only grows in unpaved time: the wandering mind, the unplanned conversation, rest that wasn't earned first. You don't have a scheduling habit; you have a hunger, and it's eating your slack.

Try this once

This week, defend one open hour: put it in the diary as 'nothing', and when the list lunges for it (it will), let the hour stay empty and see what actually shows up. Structure you choose is a genuine answer to this hunger. Structure that chooses you is just the anxiety, driving.

Where this comes from

The Timetable is one of 3 patterns in Psychological hungers, a Transactional Analysis assessment on EgoProfile. Which hunger (for stimulus, recognition or structure) drives you hardest.

Which one is you?

Reading a pattern is not the same as recognising your own. The egogram takes three minutes, needs no account, and is where every one of these comes from.
